HelloHealth Team Member Spotlight—Kristen Prewitt

Creative writing. Literature. And . . . medicine? Yes, all of these elements converge in one of HelloHealth’s valued team members—Dr. Kristen Prewitt. Dr. Prewitt has been a friend of HelloHealth founder Dr. Carmen Mohan since they were in high school together in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. As some may know, Dr. Mohan’s father was career Army, as was Dr. Prewitt’s. During their tenth and ninth grade years respectively, the two attended high school together and cemented what has become an enduring friendship. The two also attended the same undergraduate university for a year before Dr. Prewitt transferred to the University of Virginia, where she graduated with a degree in English.

After a four-year hiatus from school in which she worked a variety of jobs, Dr. Prewitt returned to school, this time as a medical student. After completing her residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Dr. Prewitt moved to Billings, Montana, where she began her practice in family medicine. This past summer, she moved to Bozeman, Montana with the same medical group, and she continues to see patients both in clinic and with HelloHealth.

Dr. Prewitt began working with HelloHealth in January 2021, but her commitment to HelloHealth began when Dr. Mohan first launched the HelloHealth Today podcast. Dr. Mohan’s approach to primary care medicine resonated with Dr. Prewitt as she listened to one of those early episodes. “I remember sitting in the car while my son was in karate lessons and just needing to call her up and ask, ‘Can I help you with this?’” she says. The rest of 2020 became a blur of training as Dr. Mohan informally took her through the HelloHealth system, and in January 2021, Dr. Prewitt began as a workshop facilitator.

Her role has quickly grown in the one year she has been with HelloHealth, and she now works with most of the medical pieces of HelloHealth, including acting both as an acute care physician for corporate clients and as a physician in the stress management program. Dr. Prewitt fully embraces the HelloHealth model of medical care. Committing to personal health is not selfish; building resiliency results in less burnout, ensures career longevity, and therefore benefits the very people, mission, and cause one is working toward professionally. “Just the shift in understanding that taking care of yourself is a professional responsibility is huge, and I love helping people make that shift,” she says.

Dr. Prewitt stresses that the HelloHealth system is not new information for most people, but its systemic approach is. “There are no shortcuts, no gimmicks. Everything we do is backed by research or medical science,” she says. Moreover, the flexibility to make the necessary changes and to work with your schedule are key factors to what make the HelloHealth model so successful, in Dr. Prewitt’s opinion.

Dr. Prewitt has embraced the self-care philosophies of HelloHealth in her own life. She and her family take advantage of their beautiful Montana setting to get out camping, hiking, and skiing as much as they possibly can. In addition, she is an avid reader who has never quite given up her English-major roots. Prioritizing hobbies and passions makes her a better, healthier person who is even more capable of giving her family, friends, and patients all they need.

HelloHealth’s corporate one-on-one patient model, with a well-rounded emphasis on all aspects of health care, is what sets HelloHealth apart from other companies offering similar services. “Most of these services,” Dr. Prewitt says, “are grossly underutilized, but HelloHealth’s corporate clients are the exact opposite.” It is a shift in medical practice that is catching on, and HelloHealth’s dynamic approach will continue to lead the way.
