HelloHealth Concept: The Commitment Filter

How to Avoid Overcommitment

Dr. Carmen Mohan “goes to confession” in Episode 3. Learn how she became overcommitted last year and how she’s recommitted to practicing what she preaches with the HelloHealth Concept “The Commitment Filter.” Listen along as she takes us through her own journey of intentionality while maintaining her self-care routine. Find out which questions she asks herself and how you can use “The Commitment Filter” to help you avoid the “wandering standard” effect. Remember the hard-and-fast rule that all new opportunities/responsibilities need to pass the litmus test before you pursue them so your plate never becomes too full.

Action Steps:

  1. Make a list of your current commitments and the new opportunities you are considering.

  2. Download “The Commitment Filter Resource” and use it to work through your filtering process.

  3. Remember to ask yourself, “Do I know specifically WHY I want to make this commitment? And are there at least three good reasons?” before making your final decision.
