Action Steps:
Copy and place the following in a place you will see it every day. Say it to yourself every morning: “I am strong. I am confident. I am powerful. I am abundant. I am brave. I am grateful. I am enough.”
Make a list of your accomplishments every quarter. Reflect on your successes and learn to value yourself and your contributions.
Practice meditation. Find your time of day and reflect on what you’re grateful for, what you’re intentionally letting go of that day, and what you’re intentionally letting in. Practice giving yourself grace.
Find your mantra. For Ms. Kirkland, it is “I am my ancestors’ wildest dreams.” It reminds her that her ancestors survived the Middle Passage and long journeys to freedom. If they can do that, she can face and overcome whatever she is facing.
