Mental Health Month - Jessica Schmoll

Choosing to work in the mental health field came naturally, over time. I had to admit that my own concerns over the years needed support and guidance, as well as my family’s challenges. In doing so, I learned that we are not meant to ‘do’ this life alone. I experienced, and aim for my clients to experience, a reduction in shame and isolation, and an increase in balance, peace, joy, and connection. Plus, the brain is part of the body, and we treat bodies when they are vulnerable and need help—why stigmatize any part of ourselves?

Jessica Schmoll, LPC, has over 16 years of experience in the mental health field, with 11 of those years spent in private practice as well as in hospitals, community mental health clinics, and long-term residential treatment. She comes to her current profession after a career spent in corporate human resources management, giving her an insider’s perspective on what it is to juggle corporate work pressures with family/personal life.

Ms. Schmoll specializes in person-centered therapy, cognitive behavior therapy/rational emotive behavior therapy (CBT/REBT), existential, and gestalt therapies.
