An interview with Marni A. Brown, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Sociology at Georgia Gwinnett College & author.

The "Women at the Helm" series continues in this episode of "HelloHealth Today," with Guest Marni A. Brown, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Sociology at Gwinnett College, and author. Dr. Brown sits down for an interview with Dr. Carmen Mohan where she discusses her career path, her journey to health, and how she became one of HelloHealth's first clients.

As an Associate Professor of Sociology, Dr. Brown talks about what true diversity, equity, and inclusion should mean. She takes you through the challenges she faces living with a chronic disease and the adjustments she has made to work with her body. She discusses the importance of a good support system, self-care plan, and how Dr. Mohan has assisted in her journey.

Action Steps:

Today's Actions Steps come courtesy of Dr. Marni A. Brown:

1. Sleep. Letting your body rest and heal at night is important.

2. Invest in a good heating pad. Get one that fits your body and needs.

3. Listen to your body. Pay attention to what your body can and can't do each day, and make the most of the things you can do.
